The CSR Activity

The selected CSR activity for the university will sourcing handicrafts and hand made products from the rural areas and then sell them in the urban market through an online platform.

The students will make an online portal where they will list the products along with the price and on basis the demand the products will be delivered to the people. The products will be sourced from the rural market and after covering the costs the revenue will be given to those rural people.

Objectives and Goals of CSR

· To give good returns and profits to the rural artisans for their art pieces.

· Providing employment opportunities to the rural people.

· Providing them a market place to sell their products and goods which remain unsold till date.

· Providing students an opportunity to interact with different stake holders and give them a practical way to run a business.

· Providing the urban people options to buy rural things and art pieces

Decision Making Matrix

The decision-making matrix will look as follows:

Market Place

Community Efforts

Environmental Effect

Initiative

4

5

3

Services

3

4

3

Impact

4

5

3

The initiative and impact to improve the market place is a good one and hence given a score of 4. The community of artisans will be raised and hence the rank given to them is 5. There are no environmental effects directly of this plan and hence 3 rank is given because artisans in rural places mostly use environmentally friendly resources.

The services which is being provided to community is a great one and hence ranked 4. The market place will not be much exploited and same there won’t be much environmental differences. Hence, a rank of 3 is given here.

Action and Implementation of CSR

- Recruitment of the students in the university who will be willing to be part of such a CSR activity.

- The first step will be to do a market research in the rural areas and ask the local artisans if they will be interested in selling their products.

- A similar market research in urban area will be conducted to understand the demand for such products.

- The next step will be to build a website for selling and market the website and make it popular among the urban target audience.

- The products will be sourced from the rural areas and listed on the website for sale.

- Initially the products will be delivered by the students who are part of the CSR club. Once the profits start coming in, a specific delivery company will be hired for the same.

Conclusion

This CSR activity will help the students of the University to indulge in something which will be very close to them too. It will help them interact with people and learn practically how a business is run in the real world. Not only this, they will get essence of work done under corporate social responsibility and also make them responsible human beings too.

If this helped you please give a thumps up!!!!
