Nursing intervention to reach the goal plan:

1. Screening and Infection control practices:

  • Serological screening for hepatitis should be done for all patients.
  • Nurses should follow universal precautions in dealing with the patient's blood, body fluids.
  • Identify the risk patients and provide special care.
  • Identify the substance abuse and alcohol consumption patient and provide proper treatment.
  • The screening test should be done to all pregnant mothers to avoid the risk of transmission to the fetus.

2. To minimize the mode of transmission:

  • Disposal of needle immediately after use.
  • Avoid sharing of natural appliances such as razor, toothbrush, nail cutters, and dentures.
  • Provide high quality in treating of liver diseases.
  • Report to the health departments about the local communicable disease surveillance.
  • Protect the people from infectious disease.
  • Administer proper vaccinations to meet the challenges of new viral infection.
  • Eliminate mother to child transmission by early detection.

3.Provide education and Counselling:

  • Educate the public and the communities about the hepatitis infection and mode of transmission.
  • Educate about the complication of alcohol consumption and liver damage.
  • Educate about the importance of hepatitis screening.
  • Provide counseling to the substance abuse disorder patient.
  • Make awareness and encourage for the vaccination therapy.
