Explain the role ethos, logos, & pathos play in persuasive speeches
These 3 types of persuasive speech are collectively a part of Aristotle’s Rhetoric and their role in persuasive speech is as follows:-
Ethos
This type of persuasive speech makes use of the moral character of the speaker and depends on their credibility more than anything else. This speech style influences the use of intelligence that the speaker has established through the use of his competence and allows a user to demonstrate goodwill towards the audience.
Pathos
This type of persuasive speech involves the use of appeal that is considered by our emotions in connection to it. And to get the emotional proof of the audience, it elicits the emotions from the audience itself.
Logos
This type of persuasive speech makes use of argument and evidence in the speech. It can basically be of two distinct types, which are called, rhetorical induction and Enthymemes. It helps the user set the major premise to a minor premise and get to the conclusion easily.
