Group therapy is a sort of care in which there is involvement of several patients and specialist therapists at the same time. In this the patients are kept in group to receive expert care and advice effectively.
In this concept the role of nursing staff is very crucial, without their active involvement there is no possibility to establish the concept of group therapy.
Furthermore this group therapy model is best fitted for psychiatric illnesses including anxiety disorders. Then there are some lesions guided by the respective therapist to the patients and thus there is development of the interpersonal relations in the group and for this there is need of the initiative of the nursing staff as it’s a link between the patients and the therapists.
the role of nursing is try to convince the patients and motivate for group therapy. Nurses should explain the advantages of the group therapy to the patients so that they may feel more comfortable.
Nursing staff has the potential to develop the faith of patient’s in the group therapy. Nursing staff provides the platform for the active involvement of each and every patient in his/her therapy.
And thus the patients generate their faith in the therapy.
That’s the need of the heath care system for the effectiveness of the specific therapy at a specific time to achieve the specific goals.
