Example - Talkative men are considered as powerful and competent and talkative women are seen as less capable and pushy. This is because people have the perception or belief about this. The stereotype and social norms led to belief that this behavior of women is inappropriate. People have different opinions for men and women who exhibit same behavior. They believe that women at senior level might pose risk for the organization. This perception would be different in an organization with a large percentage of female managers at top levels. The people will change their perception about female managers as they are more caring and compassionate. Once they experience this, the stereotype no longer exists.
