Expert Solution

Fire behavior and combustion have evolved throughout time due to changes in fuel loads, building construction, and the application of science and research to firefighting strategy and tactics. Part of fire behavior is determined by the fuel, whether it is cellulose- or petroleum-based, and the geometry of the fuel. New methods of construction and modern infrastructure has caused challenges in teh field for firefighters, thereby requiring a lot of situational and contextual awareness for them. Residential fires are, by far the most common scenarios in which firefighters are killed. In order to avoid these, new precautions and measures need to be adapted for safety. Building construction and furnishings have changed dramatically over the last three decades, but the tactics and equipment used by firefighters has changed very little. Therefore, the new individuals entering the field must be made aware of te set up as well as the fresh changes in infrastructure and construction. Due to the lack of this skill set, firefighters are unable to adapt to these new changes in construction as well as technology. Upgrading and more covational training in the field has thus become the need of the hour today.

Unfavorable changes with time and due to various metabolic processes in body composition have long been observed with aging. Loss of lean mass (LM) and accumulation of abdominal fat are most important changes that continuously take place in all adults and individuals as they age. All these events have been found to be associated with an increased risk of the development of type 2 diabetes in older adults. This is of high importance from a public health perspective where aging...
