Solutions

Expert Solution

  1. The team's overall performance is majorly based upon the two factors which are the individual performance of the employee and the performance of each individual as a team.A team is successfull when the team members have high motivation, they are ready to take risk, able to face stress, innovative and problem solving ability in them and all these can only be acheived with a good leadership structure. The leadership structure can provide a unity in the team members antd this will help in the improving the overall team perfomance.A productive team must possesses a spirit of team cohesion which is very important. For a good team the leader must also have some qualities like knowledgeable person who can manage even the worse situation like conflicts among the team members and can manage even the people who are reperesentative of different departments of the management. The personality trait heterogenous group of person shows the ability of more critical problem solving as there are people of different level of knowledge and skills and are more capable than the homogeneous groups of people.A heterogenous group has a combination of people having a diversified effect of knowledge and skills and have a high balance of the personality types which is required for the overall team's performance. Those team who are a homogenous are less successful as there level of skills and team management is equal as they all possess same type of qualities. On the other hand the heterogenous group is very successful as its has a good leadership structure.
  2. Every employee of any organization is only able to perform to the full of his capability only when he is fully motivated and the motivation comes from the reward which he gets. For the evaluation of the team members the overall performance must be monitored from time to time which is very necessary for the individual as well as the performance of the organization.Putting the right person at the right place is the role of a manager who is also a leader as he is the one who guides the individual to perform well.A self-assessment must be done by the employees also so that they get an idea about there performance. As far as the reward system is concerned following things must be kept in mind:1)The emplyees must be approached to have an active participation for structuring the reward system. This will boost up there morale.2)The perfomance should be monitered and those employees should be rewarded who are consistent in their performance.3)Rewards must also be given for small but important things like coming office at right time regularly, completing the assigned task in the assigned time period.4)Group reward must also be given so that the team cooperation increases among the team members.5)Monetary rewards must be given to motivate the employees to work more efficiently.
