Euthanasia is acceptable or not ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

'Euthanasia is acceptable or not' has been a controversial and haunting topic for many decades. Many debates and discussions were conducted on this topic and many humanitarian decisions were made based on the pros and cons. Euthanasia laws are different in different countries. In the US, euthanasia laws are different in different states. Many are of the opinion that passive euthanasia is the best option for a patient who is kept alive using life support systems. Passive euthanasia is the acceptable form of euthanasia for many, where the patient dies when the life support systems are withdrawn. Active euthanasia, ending a patient's life by injecting drugs, etc, is considered as an act of cruelty and a crime by many who have raised their voices against this.  Finally, it should be as per the patient's will or directive, which is given to his/her healthcare power of attorney to make decisions when the patient is incapacitated. Thus accepting euthanasia as a solution depends on the patient's wish.
