At the early stages of development of the economy, the opportunities of cheaper land, small scale industries, etc., were more common amongst the citizens of the country. During the development process, the lands of the urban areas were more affordable than that of the rural. So, the people that saw more opportunities to earn money in the urban regions of the country. Establishing small scale industries, dairy farming, agricultural practices, etc., became common practices of the people moving towards the urban area and due to which the economic growth of the economy also started flourishing. They thought to invest in the urban regions of the country is much more profitable than the same for the rural regions.
Not only the countries in the development process but the developed countries which already flourished also saw a bright future of the economic growth in investing in urbanization. The developed countries also implemented this idea for the overall economic growth of the nation. This can cause a long term benefit to the countries implementing it. Development of urban regions, creation of more job opportunities, opportunities for investors, small scale industries, agriculture, etc., benefitted the countries taking this idea into consideration
