Write a creative story to tell about the journey of a jogger from one location in a park to another location. Make up some events and experiences that the jogger goes through on his/her journey. Tell what happens to the jogger throughout the journey (e.g., being chased by a dog or having to slow down for a parade, etc.) As you tell the story, use the terms speed, velocity and acceleration and explain how and why these values change for the jogger as he/she goes through different parts of his/her trip. Your story can be creative and funny or serious as long as you use the terms speed, velocity and acceleration. Make sure that the story conveys the meanings of these terms and the differences between them.
One day Isaac was late for school. He never missed any of his classes but the day before apple fell on his head so he's been up all night thinking about some new theory. It was already 5 min to school and he missed his bus. So he decided to take shortcut through park. He was running with constant velocity towards school, and suddenly looked at his watch and thought: "Oh, no! Is that time already, i'll have to run at speed of light to make it on time!". So he started accelerating, and in a few seconds he ran by the cyclist, looked at his watch again and now he had a chance, it was 2 minutes left and he could see school. BUM!!! He collided with other student, Usain, who was training for school competition. He instantly lost speed. Then Isaac decided not to run and accelerate to much so he doesn't hit anyone else. He was walking now with constant velocity toward school. now he was planning how to excuse himself, but when he came at school front door, he couldn't open them. He was thinking a little and he remembered: Ooooooooh, yes, its Saturday.
