Hypomania:

It is a lesser degree of mania. Persistent mild elevation of mood and increased sense of psychological well-being and happiness not in keeping with ongoing events. Concentration and attention may be impaired. In some times irritability, conceit and boorish behaviour may takes place. In hypomania ,there is a marked increase in productivity and creativity. Some of the features of hypomania are discussed below:

• The high elevated mood lasting throughout 4 days ..
• More talkative than usual.
• Flight if ideas.
• Decreased need if sleep
• Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities.
• Increased tendency to psychomotor agitations.
• The disturbances in mood can be visible to others.

Treatments;

• Psychosocial treatment include family and marital therapy .
• Electroconvulsive therapies
• Pharmacotherapy

I am familiar with a person who have symptoms of hypomania. It is true that disturbance in mood and the change in functioning are observable by others. In my neighborhood ,there is a person have the symptoms of hypomania. In certain days he become very active , as a result he starts to play music in heavy sound for more than many hours. Also when his mood is elevated as much as high , he once throw away his dress and danced in the rain.

It is a problem solving method that works well with people who are experiencing problems . It helps clients to solve their own problems objectively . It is considered as a cognitive behavioural approach to treatment.
