Some experts agree that who we are is a result of Nurture—the social relationships or the influence of Socialization. Others argue that who we are is based on genetics. According to this belief, our basic temperaments and interests are set before birth. From this perspective, then, who we are depends on the mighty Nature.

Make an Initial post justifying only one stance out of these (Nature or Nurture).

This should be followed by 2 Peer Posts where you ask others about their viewpoint.

The Final Peer Post should tell why your chosen position is the most justified one. You can choose to change your position here

People are the products of their environment such as, parenting, family, friends, education, culture, religion and other socio-economic conditions. This would mean that most part of people’s attitudes, personality, values, worldview would be influenced by those around one. Although genetics form the basis for one’s temperament, it’s prone to the influence of the environment. Famous psychologist John B. Watson challenged the world with his quote that give me a dozen well formed healthy infants and I would make them whoever you want them to become such as, doctors, engineers, teachers and even thieves. This quote brings out the importance of environment in one’s life. For example, a person growing in an Asian country and the same person living in the US would develop differently due to the differences. So, in my opinion, it’s the nurture or one’s environment that has the most influence on one.

These children are unique in that they received genes from their birth parents and have environmental influence from their adoptive parents. For example, a research study can be conducted to see if the Body Mass Index...
