  • Secure attachment happens when parents are highly responsive to their child's needs and demands. They are consistent in their care and attention.Children who are securely become visibly upset if they are seperated from their caregivers and are happy when they return. When they are frightened, they seek support from their caregivers, since they trust them.
  • A contact which is initiated by a parent is readily accepted by securely attached children and they greet the return of a parent with positive behavior.
  • While these children can be comforted to some extent by other people in the absence of a parent or caregiver, they still clearly prefer parents to strangers.
  • Insecure attachment happens when parents are consistently unresponsive or ignorant to their child's needs. They dont provide the necessary attention and care to their child. There is no emotional exchange between a parent and their child,by failing to meet the baby's safety needs.
  • To overcome insecure attachment, parents need to stay patient with their child and try to understand their needs. They can seek help of other family members, friends etc. to guide them to take care of their child.
  • Parenting a new born is not easy and can be very stressful. So to be able to take care of their child, parents themselves need to rejuvnate,by taking out time for themselves, going for a walk, exercising etc.to relax one's mind and then focus on their child more. They can also take their child to yoga classes, which will help to build an emotional bond between a parent and child.
  • They need to pay attention to the kinds of movements, sounds, and environments their child enjoys. Some children are comforted by motion, such as rocking or being walked back and forth, while others respond to sounds like soft music, or a change of environment such as being carried outside.
  • Smiles, laughter, touch, and interaction are as important to a baby’s development as food or sleep. A parent's body language, tone of voice, and loving touch are all important ways of communicating with their baby and develop secure attachement bond.
  • Parents also need to provide their babies with proper sleep and food, because only then will a baby be more interested in engaging with the parent.
  • Due to time limit, remaining questions can be asked as another question, they will be answered, thankyou for your cooperation
