How many grams if sodium chloride are contained in 1 liter of half strength (45%) saline solution?
Calculation of grams of sodium chloride in one liter of .45 % saline solution
Sodium and chloride are electrolytes which are present in 0.45 % solution make the solution sodium chloride solution
Sodium concentration per 1000ml is 77 MEq
Chloride concentration per 1000ml is 77 MEq
0.45% saline =0.45grams of sodium chloride in 100 ml of water or 450mg of sodium chloride in 100 ml of deionized water
If each 100 ml contains 450mg of sodium chloride
Then find out sodium chloride in each ml, 450mg sodium chloride should be divided with 100ml = 4.5 mg
If each ml contains 4.5 mg of sodium chloride, then find out sodium chloride in 1000ml
In order to find out the sodium chloride in 1000ml, 4.5mg of sodium chloride should be multiplied with 1000ml of solution and produces
4.5 mg × 1000ml= 4.5 grams sodium chloride in 1000 ml of saline
4.5gram of sodium chloride
