Describe effective and ineffective coping styles. Also, share with the class how you have and perhaps continue to cope with stressors you presently encounter or have encountered in the past.

One of the most important factors that keep us moving and acting is stress but when it crosses a threshold limit, it becomes a problem and people freak out thus ending making mistakes. It’s very important to take care of the stress and overcome it in order to function normally. There are different types of stress one would experience as they grow such as exam stress, financial stress, relationship stress etc. Some employ effective coping skills while others choose ineffective and destructive coping skills.
One of the most effective coping skills is planning. A good beginning is half done and planning is considered to be good beginning. Most of the time people make mistakes in a hurry because they don’t have a plan. They struggle to complete things because of lack of plan.
Second thing is a constructive hobby. People who are stressed out often need a constructive hobby that would calm them down and bring homeostasis because they do what they like to do. Doing something with utmost concentration will help them regain their confidence and would give them a new perspective about the problem they face.
Third thing is maintaining a very good sleep cycle. People who sleep well will be able to calm down and get new insights during the sleep, besides when one sleeps the physical self will calm down and thus relieve one from one’s tiredness.
Final effective strategy is to maintain a very good relationship with people. One needs a friend or loving parents or encouraging sibling to confide. Sharing things with their loved ones will bring more confidence and courage to face the problem at hand.
Ineffective coping is something that would lead one astray and prevent them from functioning in the society normally. They would struggle to adjust with events, people and problems. They thus end-up in some negative coping which would   
One of the most important ineffective coping strategy that many people adopt is taking drugs, alcohol and smoking. This will not only affect their physical wellbeing but also their mental wellbeing.
Second ineffective coping strategy is avoiding people and events that cause the stress. This will not only spoil their opportunities in life but also prolong the stress.
Finally, some people lack self-confidence thus ending their life.

I have always tried to play outdoors when I’m stressed out and sleep tight. This strategy always helped me refreshing myself. At times, I talk with one of my best friends and get some insight to overcome the stress.
