Ans) Order: Humulin R 20U SQ
Available: Humulin R labeled 100 U/mL.
100 U = 1 ml
20 U = x
x = 20 ÷ 100 = 0.2 ml
0.2 ml is to be injected for the dose.
2) Order: Enoxaparin 40 mg SQ daily

Pre-filled syringe labeled 40 mg / 0.4 mL & dose to be given is also 40 mg so 0.4 ml is to be injected.
3) Order: Morphine 5 mg SQ q 4h
Available: Morphine 50 mg/mL.
50 mg = 1 ml
5 mg = x
x = 5/50 = 0.1 ml
0.1 ml is to be injected for the dose.
4) Order: Adrenalin (epinephrine) 0.5 mg SQ
Available: Adrenalin 1:1,000 (1 mg/mL)
1 mg = 1 ml
0.5 mg = x
