What are your experiences with the health care system, and how do you think it affects young children?
The health care sytem agree free help for it's citizen of the country but in reality it is lacking behind in meeting the health needs of the people. The private health care centres are responsible for majority of health care in the country but patients and their relate family members are not able to meet the expenses of those hospitals. The children belonging to low income families or poor families are mostly not able to access health care services provided by the government.
In terms of private health care services, it has been indicated that private health care providers generally spend more time with their patients in treating their illnesses comparatively to Public health sector but due to the inability of most of the families to meet the pocket expenses of these private health centres many families fall behind to access these health services resulting into their entries into public health care services. But majority of the public health services in the rural or remote areas relies on the inexperienced and less learned doctors who are mandated to spend allotted time in their clinics as a part of their job requirements and not on the basis of the health priority of the people. Rise in the poor quality of public health services are also seen due to long waiting times, reluctance of the experienced workers to visit the remote areas, and inconvenient hours of operations. All these factors in sum effects the health of child negatively thus hampering the overall development of a child.
These unmet phyiscal and mental health needs results in children falling developmentally and causing troubles to catch a normal rate of social, physical, mental and emotional development. Children belonging to poor families are more likely to lack of access of health services and as a result they often start their life few steps behind compare to those who have proper access of health services.
