How do you think the issue of prostitution affects the Enuchs in this society? What role do the Enuchs Play as a third gender in Indian society?
Enchus normaly refers to man whose is castrated or their testicles been removed very early in life and have hormonal consequences.
These men usually serve as a servants, messengers, watchmen, attendants and guards for palaces. Often, eunuchs also doubled as part of the King's court of advisers.
In south asia these persons have also been considered to be the equivalent of the modern Hijra of India. They are also refers to as transgenders or third sex.
some of these do ritual castration but majority wont do. they wore female dress like saree and do heavy makeup . Major sources of income for the hijra are begging and prostitution.
they may be more of a male-to-female transsexual individual.
issue of prostitution :
Lack of economic opportunities outside and discrimination affect enchus people entering prostitution in order to generate income for rent, drugs, medicines, hormones, or gender-related surgeries.
HIV testing programs and HIV prevention programs for hijras individuals are potentially less and health care acess for such individuals.
These people are at higher risk of contracting HIV and other Sexually transmitted diseases.

India is the only country where the tradition of eunuchs is prevalent today. Some believe they are simply born that way - males without the male genitalia - while others will tell you that they are really men who were forcibly castrated in their youth.
Hijras Often eunuchs in English, they may be born intersex or apparently male, dress in feminine clothes and generally see themselves as neither men nor women.The Hijra of India are the most well known third sex type in the modern world.
