Expert Solution

Conflict Resolution is the process of dealing with the conflicts and bringing out a peaceful solution for the dispute. It may be of formal or informal in nature. A good leader must have certain conflict resolution skills.

  • The leader or person handling the conflict must be impartial. He should be neutral in dealing a dispute among two parties. The person must not evaluate the parties personality etc. Rather he would only judge their argument.
  • The person must have patience to tolerate both the parties. The person's involved in the conflict may be communcating with different temper and emotions , so the middleman shoukd have patience and calmness to deal the situation.
  • The middleman should also be a good listner. He should have the patience and mindset to listen to the arguments of both parties completely.
  • The person dealing a conflict should have a god emotional intelligence. He should have an ability to interpret the emotions to understand the argument of parties in conflict and to counter them by not provoking their mind. By using emotional intelligence you can control their temper or frustration.
  • There should be a good space for communication. The middleman must have good communication skills so that he can extract all the thought of parties. Moreover he should be able to bridge a line for communication even after the dispute is solved, inorder to maintain harmony in future.
  • Pointing finger is not good in dealing a conflict. It is better not put complete blame on any party or else he or she may feel unsecured to raise their opinion.
  • Avoid using 'you' etc while talking as it makes the party feel that the blame is been pointed at them. Instead use the word 'I' and explain it like in manner 'i believe' ,'i feel' etc.
  • The person dealing the conflict must have a willlingnes to bring a compromise.

Thank you.
