Graph 2
Substance Ammonia
This is an hypothetic Refrigeration cycle.
Draw the schematic for this case. (evaporator, compressors ...)
Sketch the T-s and P-v diagram. 30 points.
Process

State 1 leaving the evaporator at -20 C and 175 kPa

State 2 leaving the Low pressure isentropic compressor at 5.5 bar and enter the high pressure irreversible compressor to state 3

State 3 135 C, 20 bar

State 4 isobaric condenses process (3-4) to saturated liquid

State 5 (4-5) expansion valve to 5.5 bar and enter to a flash chamber
The flash chamber receive the liquid-vapor mixture and separate the vapor and liquid. Its return the vapor to the High pressure compressor entry and the saturated liquid is tag as state 6

State 6 isobaric process to saturated liquid

State 7 (6-7) expansion valve to low pressure line enter the evaporator

Solutions

Expert Solution

State 1 is superhit ammonia which enter in low pressure compressor and reach at state 2.state 2 combiend with saturated vapour of 5.5 bar.and after it send into high pressure compressor . high pressure compressor exit is state 3 .state 3 to state 4 condensor is available.state 4 to state 5 expander or throtling valve available .state 5 we place a flash chamber which separate this mixture into liquid and vapour .this saturated liquid send to to Expander and its exit known as state 7 and this saturated vapor combined with superheated vapour and become inlet of high compressor.

state 2 to state 1 is known for evaporator.

The isentropic efficiency of an ammonia, NH3, refrigeration plant is 0.88. The ammonia enters the compressor as dry saturated vapour at -16 ? and leaves the compressor in a superheated state at 11.67 bar. The refrigerant is then condensed and undercooled by 4K at constant pressure before being expanded at -16 ?.
