Draw water and ammonia cycle in Einstein refrigerator, from to condenser + generator, mark and name each component

Solutions

Expert Solution

The Einstein–Szilard or Einstein refrigerator is an absorption refrigerator which has no moving parts expext small bubble pump, operates at constant pressure, and requires only a heat source to operate. It was jointly invented in 1926 by Albert Einstein.

In this system ammonia works as the refrigerant and water works as the absorbent. The major advantage of this system is that water has strong affinity for ammonia and the solution highly stable.

evaporator (1)

condenser/absorber (2)

Generator (4)

heat exchanger (3 , 5)

reservoir (7)

Carlos takes a glass of cold water from the refrigerator and puts it on a table. The day is sunny and the temperature is 30 °C. Once outside the refrigerator, the water temperature was 0 °C and after 10 minutes it rose to 18 °C. Determine a differential equation that models the temperature change over time, assuming the reason at which the temperature changes of the drink is proportional: a) The difference between its own temperature and that of the...

Draw the structures of: water, glycerol, ethylene glycol, acetone, hexane, and methanol. Name and briefly describe the intermolecular attractive forces (IMAF) you would expect to find for each of the drawn structures. Be sure to include the viscosity and density for ethylene glycol (also called glycol), glycerol (also called glycerine) and the denisty of mineral oil (also called paraffin oil)--and also, include what the denisties are of acetone, hexane, methnol, and water. Thanks so much for the explaination to help...

My son loves to drink carbonated water from his soda stream machine. Draw the Log C vs. pH diagram for this open system and then calculate the equilibrium pH in the water if the soda stream machine provides a CO2 rich atmosphere with pco2=10atm. You may disregard equilibrium with the co32- species.
