-An evaluation of operations concerns in global markets
-An evaluation of corporate social responsibility issues with regards to quality and industry standards.
Your paper must 2- 3 pages long besides a cover page and a reference page. It should demonstrate a strong thesis statement supported by research from at least 3 scholarly sources. Both a references page and in text citations must be in APA format.
-A brief description of the organization and industry :
Formally defined an organization is a social system of people who are structured and managed to meet some goals. Organizations are ongoing and the structure determines the relationship between the functions and positions. The structure also subdivides are open systems which are affected by the environment outside its boundary.
Each industry would have processed over the years or decades improving their processes and products. During this development, the materials would have changed and processes would have changed. As all products or services are meant to serve the needs of the customers, they undergo continuous changes both in configuration and features.
Materials and methods go on improving incessantly because of the research that is conducted. The companies that were at the front innovate to stay in business as new entrants would be adopting the latest techniques that the pioneers had taken decades to establish. Various firms in any industry would end up adopting almost similar methods of getting an output as required, but only a few among them would reach great heights because of different practices that lead to superb performance. Such practices would get refined to a great extent giving rise to what we call industry best practices. These tend to get stabilized or changed owing to the development of new pieces of equipment which are designed. A very commonly quoted example is the Toyota Production System (TPS) adopted by the various companies world over in the pursuit of excellence.
A manufacturer with an eye on growing markets, demands higher quality and reduced prices. Industry best practices open up the field for benchmarking by companies which need to improve their performance.
-At least four key concepts relevant to Operations Management in an organization:
operation management is the systematic design, direction, and control of the processes that transform inputs into services and products for the customers. Operations management is one of the major functions of any business organisation. All functions in the organization including administration, finance, materials, purchase, marketing,production, logistics, communication and other can be considered as operations. The reason is that all of them use some inputs like materials or information either on a person-to-person basis or through a flow line. They are required to use some process and convert them into outputs which are usable in the next stage.
Implementation of operations
Implementation is the process of executing the planned operations .when planning and controlling functions are put together we call it as implementing the operations.
Planning is the process of estimating, routing, and sceduling.the controlling functions are performed while the manufacturing is going on as dispatching and expediting.
-Estimating gives the qualities to be made at each workplace depending on the sales of an organization forecast, provision for buffer stock at the organization, qualities bought out, services outsourced, likely shortfalls,and others too. It is made on the basis of capacity mainted by an organisation.
-Routing defines the step by step operations and the machines that perform by them so that the workflow as defined by the processes, which results in the minimum inventory.
-Scheduling is one of the main roles that is concerned with allocating some time slots, especially at the workplace at different jobs. The purpose to prevent the imbalances among work centers and to utilize the labor hours in such a way that established lead times are maintained.
Dispatching plays with moving of the materials with tools and fixtures to a specific machine along with the drawings and ensuring inspections at specific nodes so that the materials move in the supply chain.
Expediting ensures that all the above are being done properly. Reports are generated and any bottleneck that created is removed.
Explanation of how these elements directly relate to Operations Management :
Organizing processes in a company need a group of skills from
designing and prioritizing through execution to observance. These
abilities will along facilitate the manager come through
productivity and potency.
Analytic capabilities understanding a process. the potential to
grasp processes in your space usually includes a broad
understanding of different functions, too. which is an attention to
detail for which commonly useful to travel deeper within the
analysis.
Coordination of processes. Once processes area is to be analyzed
and understood, they will be optimized for max potency. A fast
decision-making may be a real advantage here, additionally as a
transparent focus problem-solving.
People skills. Flaws within the interactions with staff or member
of senior management will seriously hurt productivity, therefore an
operation manager must have individuals skills to properly navigate
the fine lines with their colleagues. moreover, clear communication
of the tasks and goals is nice motivation and to allow a purpose
for everybody.
Creativity. Again, problem-solving skills area which is essential
for an inventive approach if things don’t get in the proper
direction. once they do, creativeness helps notice new ways that to
boost company performance.
An analysis of how these concepts work together to resolve business problems
A productive way of problem-solving abilities may enable employees to analyze and find the problems, finding the problem and assess the effect of any alternative solutions.
