not exhaustive, have tried to cover a few areas.
Demographic Information:
- Name
 
- Age
 
- Gender
 
- Country of Origin
 
- Education level
 
- Marital status
 
- Occupation prior to arrest
 
- Prisoner category
 
Crime details:
It can be collected from the police officers as such questions
sometimes lead to aggressiveness in the prisoners, so avoid asking
directly.
- What is your crime?
 
- When you were arrested?
 
- Do you feel you have been enough tortured for the crime?
 
- Were you offered bail?
 
- Did you ever face physical abuse in the custody?
 
Family and Health Concerns:
- Did your family members visit you?
 
- Are you suffering from any chronic diseases?
 
- Did you suffer any health problem in which you required medical
care?
 
- Did you receive proper healthcare?
 
- Is regular health checks done in prison?
 
- How is the food in prison?
 
- Do they provide sufficient food as per your needs?
 
- Are the cells cleaned regularly and is it hygienic like
spraying mosquito repellant reularly or giving mosquito nets or
bedding or bug-free mattresses?
 
- How are the washrooms and sanitary facilities?
 
- Do they provide basic things like soap, toilet paper,
toothpaste, brush etc?
 
Correctional Measures:
- Are they providing work that will enable you to get a job after
release?
 
- Are you paid for that?
 
- Which occupation do you think will be better for you after
release?
 
Other questions:
- Are any sexual violence in the prison?
 
- Do some inmates control or harass other inmates?
 
- Do any inmates have weapons with them?
 
- Is there gambling in the prison?
 
- Does anyone use drugs in prison?
 
- Is the police custody aware of all these?
 
- Is there any discrimination in the prison?
