Sexual and asexual reproduction process are adjusted to the environment which may be fluctuating and periodically regular.
Small creatures and plants are most affected by this phenomenon which has life of one or two years. For example most of the plants germinate in spring season and produce the seed in summer season and after that they die. Sexually capable seeds survive in the season of winter. This cycle is also commonly similar in small sea creatures. For example eggs of daphnia and Hydra landed in the bottom surface of pond and they remain safe in the the winter season under the protected case but in spring season they become active and attached to the stones and eat small crustaceans. After the end of the spring they reproduce vastly.
Similarly birds and mammals generally de produce their offspring in start of spring seasoned because in this time food and water is sufficient.
