Information Literacy, Write three paragraphs about how one develops basic research questions or topics for exploration, with information literacy in mind.
Here is the solution to the above question. Please note that this is only a brief explanation.
To start with research question one should first know about what research mean and their types. In simple term research can be translated as “to know more” while in complex term "it is the systematic investigation to materials to study and establish facts which may lead to new conclusion." . It can be classified into three parts which are as follows:
Descriptive:
This type of research is used for describing something or someone. For example, researching the use of certain products and benefits or researching for someone like “Amelia Earhart”, everything their is about that person is a fact and already present. One can’t simply change or alter it in any case.
Comparative:
This type of research is used for comparing purpose with pros and cons. There are usually two sides and the research is done to find the better side with fewer cons. For example, comparing two product or comparing two members for the different party electing to be president.
Casual:
This type of
research is done usually for searching purpose. It will include
searching for specific type of item or people for specific type of
needs. For example, searching for specific type of curtains for the
house or searching for the specific type of person for the job like
a maid or carpenter.
Before researching about something or someone one should know about these types and the difference between them. It will help to identify the topic and in which category it falls, that will help in increasing efficiency and accuracy of the research and also helps to gather the right set of questions.
After the topic is decided, do some basic research or the decided topic to get some idea. It will help to know the targeted audience and will help to frame the question. Or if it is for sell exploration then started researching on what you want to know.
Note: If you are still unable to understand, then comment with it and I will be happy to help.
