Thinking about fundamental objectives and means objectives is relatively easy when the decision context is narrow (buying a telescope, renting an apartment, choosing a restaurant for dinner). But, when you start thinking about your strategic objectives -- objectives in the context of what you choose to do with your life or your career -- the process becomes more difficult. Spend some time thinking about your fundamental strategic objectives. What do you want t accomplish in your life or your career? Why are these objectives important?
Try to create a fundamental objectives hierarchy and a means objective network for yourself. Obviously this will change over time and as your career and personal situation changes, but, it is an interesting exercise to undertake. Answer in 2 paragraphs
Thinking about fundamental objective is easy as compared to strategic objectives, because buying, renting or doing some other exercises is dependent on your mood, condition etc., I.e. you may change your decision after purchasing, renting after few days, few hours. It may cost you little but your life will not be affected due to your decision changing.
But if we consider strategic objectives where you have to plan you life, career, changing decision in this may cost your whole life, for example let suppose you want to achieve something in your life or career but you are not planning as per requirement then you may not achieve it. If you want to become scientists then you need to be good in study, from starting of your school's, if you are not doing so you may end up with some other job.
Obviously interest may change over time but changing decision over time is not good strategy. Therefore fundamental and strategic objectives is opposite to each other, you can change you plan because it is not affecting so much but startegic objective is not a short term decision and you need time to plant it, hence after taking startegic decision, it is not possible to change it.
