A manufacturing area needs to forecast workhours. This is a slightly different project. The data for several months is supplied below. Beside each of the actual numbers in black, the forecast is provided in red. The goal is to calculate three stats on the data: MAD, MAPE, and the tracking signal. Be careful since the data is listed beginning with the most recent. Please round to two decimal places. For MAPE, please convert to a percentage before rounding. Do not enter the percent sign.

Question: A manufacturing area needs to forecast workhours.

Answer: (Make sure to recheck the supplied data with my calculations. Here at my end i couldn't differentiate actual and forecast value colors. And intermediate values are not rounded, only output values are rounded to two decimals. For your convenience i have also provided excel formulas used, refer accordingly)

MAD = 159

MAPE % = 10.60

Tracking Signal = -0.26

Explanation:

Overall Calculation:

Excel Formulas Used:

Formulas:

Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) = |Error| / n

Here: |Error| = |Actual - Forecast|

Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) = (|Error| / Actual) x 100

Running Sum of Forecast Error (RSFE) = Error

Tracking Signal (TS) = (RSFE / MAD)

Two of the stable isotopes of mercury are 198Hg and 202Hg. These isotopes emit slightly different wavelengths of light, 546.07532nm and 546.07355nm, respectively. To identify which isotopes are included in a sample of mercury, we can shine the light it emits on a diffraction grating with a screen 6 m away. How many lines per centimeter are necessary in the diffraction grating for the first-order bright fringes of the two wavelengths to be 1.4 cm apart on the screen?

For our discussion, you will address one of three slightly different versions of the case of a ball falling to the base of a 50.0 m tall building. Neglect air resistance. The magnitude of the acceleration is 9.80 m/s2. The eventual position of the ball is at the base of the building, 50.0 m below this initial position. Upward is defined as positive. Displacements, velocities and accelerations directed upwards are positive. Conversely, if directed downwards, these same quantities are negative....

A food manufacturing company needs a data mart to summarize facts about orders to move goods. Some orders transfer goods internally, some are purchases from vendors, and some are returns of goods from customers. The company needs to treat customers, vendors, plants, and storage locations as distinct dimensions that can be involved at both ends of a movement event. For each type of destination or origin, the company wants to know the type of location (i.e. customer, vendor, etc.) name,...
