  1. Due to high demand from customers and already sold-out products, the IKEA marketing and sales manager is being contacted by various customers who wish to buy a total of 50 thousand computer chairs over the next six weeks. Before saying yes to customers the sales manager needs to arrange their manufacturing. To do this they need to use the ERP system to collect relevant data from all departments, including the human resources department. What kind of data would they need from the human resources department ?

The kind of information that manager needed to know the informatin from the Human Resource Department is mainly regarding the follwing:

  • Man hours needed to undertake task of production of additional 50,000 chairs without hampering their current ongoing productions to meet previous orders and company production plans.
  • Effective Availability of manpower after re-organizing extra manpower from other productioin lines .
  • Effective Number of of new employes who will be availble after undergoing their orientation programs.
  • Number of Employees needed in addition for undertaking the additional task.
  • No of vacacies can be released form their annual hiring plan and their viability, thier employability after orientation program, early recrutiments deffering from hiring plan vis-a-vis benefits of undertaking additional production.

The manager will take decision then only after considering all the information from the HRD.
