The diagnostic assessment is a type of assessment taken by the teacher to assess the ability of the students. It helps to reflect the weakness, knowledge and skill of the students. On the basis of this assessment the teacher makes learning plan and then the learning goal is set with the help of the result of the diagnostic assessment.

Formative assessment is done to see the continuity of the learning. It shows how the learning procedure is effective to the students. It also helps the teacher to review the learning process and he changes if there is any defect in the learning process. The continuous feedback is found in the formative assessment.

The summative assessment is done on the basis of the whole academic year. It is done at the end of the term. It focuses on the level of the achievement of the students at the end of the term. It helps to grade the child on a particular level.

These types of assessments are integral parts of learning. These assessments are interrelated and they reflect the development of the learners. All the assessment are scientific and logical. Teachers need to follow some particular procedures to do these assessments.
