Describe the scenario, and the effect the dominating member had on the group or team. (If this has not happened to you, discuss using examples, a hypothetical situation, and for parts b) and c), describe specific measures that could be taken.)
Below is a hypothetical situation describing the effect the dominating member had on the group or team.
Scenario
In an organization, the management asks to accomplish the task by forming a team of 10 employees in which the responsibilities and duties of all the employees will be exclusively decided. In one of the teams, a person X is very friendly and intellectual with others in the team that makes him stand different than others. Many employees of the team follow his lead and do not give their own perspective and ideas on the project rather just agree with him. Due to this, the team follows what he says and expects.
Effect
The effect of this situation is that, as per the guidelines of this dominating team member, everyone is overburdened with extra work in order to win from other teams and accomplish the task before the due time. The aim of person X is to build a good image f the team in the form of management by complete ng project before time. But this extra work started making team members exhausted and tired which is why their productivity started to decrease.
Specific measures that could be taken
The specific measures that could be taken for avoiding such pressure due to the conduct of a dominating nature of person X, the team must have involved in fair play in which all the members would be allowed to five suggestions and collective voting would decide which option to consider. This would not give a specific person to take charge of the entire project which is why the project also went incomplete.
