Answer :  Selection interviews are those one-on-one meetings that are conducted by firms for intake of employees to their firms. It can be classified into three types.

(1) Based on their structure : Interviews can be conducted for firms either in structured or unstructured formats.

Structured interviews are those which are well Organized and are bound to access certain specific qualities of candidates and assess their performance on each one of those. In those interviews, marks will be awarded for candidates in each sections and gets added to compile. Mostly, same questions are being asked to all candidates and assessment is done on a uniform basis.

Unstructured interviews are meant to assess the spontaneous solution making skills of candidates and their character skills and personality more rather than assessing their specific qualities. These type of interviews value more upon the moral aspects of selecting a candidate for job. Here, different questions are asked to different candidates and the evaluation is also different.

(2) Based on content : The classification of content is based on their eligibility criteria and work related questions that enable the panel to find out the knowledge base of the candidate and to understand the work related know-how of candidate. It can be either situational or behavioural. The work related queries are asked in order to find out how they will behave at work and how much tension a person could handle. Based on this, stress interviews are also conducted. These type of interviews will adhere to the fact that the final goal of doing good quality work is essential. It usually helps in understanding the emotional balance and stress levels of candidates by which they could choose the most tempered one providing logical answers.

(3) Based on administration of interview : These types of interviews differ in the way it is conducted. This can be a one-to-one type of interview or an interview conducted by a panel of persons, or it can be conducted in multiple levels following one after one principle. The effective use of media platforms can also be used to conduct video streamed Interviews or telephonic interviews which are the current trend. The incorporation of various innovative measures keeps the effects of interviews always in a positive level.
