Four major Decision-making styles at workplace are :-
1. Directive: Pioneers with the mandate style of dynamic will in general settle on the choices without anyone else. They anticipate fast outcomes and are forceful in their strategies. They will in general spotlight on the momentary outcome.
2. Analytic: leaders with the analytic style of decision making tend to make informed and calculated decisions based on analyzing a huge amount of data for the purpose of solving a unique problem.
3. Behavioural: leaders with behavioural style of decision making tend to focus on the impact of their decision on the functioning of the group. Each group has a unique set of challenges that need to be taken into account.
4. Conceptual: leaders with the conceptual style of decision making tend to create artistic solutions to any given problem. They tend to approach each problem with a unique outlook and allow them to solve some of the unique problems.
Analytic style of thinking and conceptual style of thinking helps a leader make better-informed decisions based on a large amount of data that is presented to them on a case by case basis. Conceptual style, however, helps a leader in a tough situation where traditional concepts have proven to be ineffective and an out of the box solution can be used to solve the problem.
