What kind if research methology would a sociologist use to answer this question
"What parental styles do parents have on their childrens social behavior?"
ANSWER-
Depending solely on the facets like either only the child self report scale or child's and parent's interview.
Recently, many other entities like teachers, schools, the live interaction/ give and take/ communication between children and parents/ observational method, friends and even the reflections by the police cops.
This type of approach leads to the substantial associations between the parenting styles and the social behaviour of the children.
Focus group research approach too tends to be a good option for better revealing the connections between children and parents as the focus groups offer a deeper enquiry into the opinions, perceptions and expressions of the feelings.
A wider perspective in the context of a complex behaviour can be initiated. For such a focus group around 8-10 children and 8-10 parents can be a fine slot of the sample size.
