What is the difference in how power is exercised by leaders at various levels?

The five bases of power are divided in two categories

Formal Power

Coercive-Coercive power is passed on through dread of losing one's employment, being downgraded, accepting a poor execution survey, having prime tasks removed, and so on. This power is overcome undermining others. For instance, the VP of Sales who undermines deals people to meet their objectives or get supplanted.

Reward-Reward control is passed on through remunerating people for consistence with one's desires. This might be done through giving rewards, raises, an advancement, additional time off from work, and so forth. For instance, the director who gives representatives comp time when they meet a target she sets for an undertaking.

Legitimate-Genuine power originates from having a place of intensity in an association, for example, being the manager or a key individual from an authority group. This power comes when representatives in the association perceive the specialist of the person. For instance, the CEO who decides the general bearing of the organization and the asset needs of the organization.

Personal Power

Expert-Master control originates from one's encounters, aptitudes or information. As we gain involvement specifically regions, and progress toward becoming idea pioneers in those territories, we start to assemble master control that can be used to inspire others to enable us to meet our objectives. For instance, the Project Manager who is a specialist at tackling especially difficult issues to guarantee an undertaking remains on track.

Referent-Referent power originates from being trusted and regarded. We can increase referent power when others trust what we do and regard us for how we handle circumstances. For instance, the Human Resource Associate who is known for guaranteeing representatives are dealt with decently and acting the hero of the individuals who are definitely not.
