compare and contrast cell biology and genetics. how do they differ and relate. explain lectures that coincide with each other.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer-Cell biology is the branch of biology that studies about different structures and functions of various cell organelles and explains their physiological properties ,metabolic processes etc and in case of genetics ,it explains genetic variation, heredity ,mutation etc. It's the main contrast..In cell biology we can understand how different cells can cope with differing circumstances using different approaches.and in genetics the genes, chromosome are found in nucleus of cells and their inner structure are studied.Studying gene help us understand how proteins are created and what kind of variations are possible.

But both are interconnected as while reading cell biology we have to know the genetics related to cell organelle like transport of proteins across ER membrane ,NOR regions etc.And while reading genetics we have to learn about nucleus ,mitochondria as genes chromosome are all come from the nucleus .

Lectures that coincide with cell biology and genetics are cell cycle ,cancer of cell ,apoptosis ,transport protein across ER membrane,NOR ,cell signalling mostly gpcr,rtk,ip3-dag,p53 protein in cell cycle etc.and many more.
