What are the most important preparations needed by yourself before attending a job interview and how could you enhance the chance of you being selected as the ideal candidate during the said interview
The most important preparations needed before attending a job interview are:
1. Company profile: A candidate should perform a research about what the company does and know completely about their competitors, the market in which they operate, their problems, strengths and how to solve their problems. Companies like the candidates who have a clear idea about their business.
2. Job description: The candidates are provided with a job description before coming for the interview. This document shows the details of the job and the necessary skills required to perform the duties there. A candidate must read the JD before going for the interview as many questions as re asked pertaining to the job. he/she must be ready to answer some of the very basic questions about the job so as to show that he/she is interested in working in such a job.
3. Resume: A candidate must prepare his resume as per the job profile for which he is being interviewed. This should show his education, work experiences, internships, projects, and interests. A well-drafted resume works as a marketing document for the candidate and is the first step where the candidates get rejected.
4. Gesture: To perform well in the interview, the candidate must prepare about how to behave while being in the interview. This may include eye contact, hand movement, firm handshake, clear and loud voice, and good communication. A practice in front of the mirror can help a lot.
5. The WHYs: The candidate must prepare answers to some basic questions like their profile, why do they want to work there, their plans in short and long-term etc. he must be able to project himself as a valuable asset to the firm and how can he impart value to the firm. He must be able to explain how his experience, skills set and exposure will help him in performing his duties in the job and take the firm ahead.
