The hazards that the community that I live in is the rising level of seawater along with the increasing toxicity of the water in the state of Florida of the US. The vulnerability of the community is it flooding at the places where the sea is encroaching the previously long beaches due to the rising climate change behavior. Tourism has been affected as well as the hazards of arbitrary floods and high tides which at times flows to the seaside pubs that were previously never been affected with tidal waves or flooding which is a recent occurrence that has been observed in the past one decade.
The effects have been cascading where the sea beach small pubs and businesses have lost the regularity of the clients due to such uncertain behavior of the sea in recent days. The tourism has been affected as well as the small businesses have been in great danger of closure due to the cascading effects of the climate changes in the community.
The ways to get out of it is a long term plan whoever the short term plans suggest that the vulnerability can be addressed with measures that seem to be viable for the short term. the pubs and small businesses need to be out of the beach area where the plantation has to be done to make sure the erosion, as well as excessive water, is drained out or absorbed by the soil quickly to make sure the damage to the small businesses don’t happen. The tourists have to be given a host of opportunities to keep them coming in like para-gliding on the sea or use of small-sized boats for the personal use of the tourists which can rent them out for their trips as they wish. Further, the coast guards need to play an active role to make sure that the tourists get the protection to keep the cascading effect of the rising time due to climate change be restricted in the area.
