Identify the seven components of the communication process model, and briefly describe each by providing an example.
The seven components of the communication process model include the following:
1. Source: The individual who originates the message. For example, when we reading an article expressing an opinion abortion, the author becomes the source.
2. Receiver: The individual or group that receives and processes the message sent by the source. In the example above, the readers of the article are the receiver.
3. Message: The content that is seen, heard, illustrated. The message is what is conveyed between source and receiver. The body of text in the example stated above is the message.
4. Channel: This involves the means or platform of distributing the information. If the article in the example is published online, Internet becomes the channel of communication.
5. Feedback: The verbal/ nonverbal responses by the receiver in response to the message. How the readers covertly tot overtly react to the example article would classify as their feedback.
6. Situation: The overall context comprising of the time, place and occasion in which the message sending and receiving occurs. For instance, one maybe reading the example article during office hours.
7. Noise: Any interference or obstacles to communication is noise. In this case, it maybe an unsteady information that does not cause the entire content of the article to be displayed.
