Components of Effective Communication:
Effective communication leads to understanding. The communication process is made up of four key components. Those components include encoding, medium of transmission, decoding, and feedback. There are 7 major elements when we talk about the communication process. These are: sender, ideas, encoding, communication channel, receiver, decoding and feedback.

Barrier's to effective communication:
There are many barriers to communication and these may occur at any stage in the communication process. Barriers may lead to your message becoming distorted and you therefore risk wasting both time and/or money by causing confusion and misunderstanding. Effective communication involves overcoming these barriers and conveying a clear and concise message.
Common Barriers to Effective Communication:
a)The use of jargon. Over-complicated, unfamiliar and/or technical terms.
b)Emotional barriers and taboos. Some people may find it difficult to express their emotions and some topics may be completely 'off-limits' or taboo. Taboo or difficult topics may include, but are not limited to, politics, religion, disabilities (mental and physical), sexuality and sex, racism and any opinion that may be seen as unpopular.L
c) Lack of attention, interest, distractions, or irrelevance to the receiver.
d)Differences in perception and viewpoint.
e)Physical disabilities such as hearing problems or speech difficulties.
f)Physical barriers to non-verbal communication.
g)Language differences and the difficulty in understanding unfamiliar accents.
h)Expectations and prejudices which may lead to false assumptions or stereotyping.
I)Cultural differences.
Non-Verbal Communication:
Common types of nonverbal communication are; eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture and body orientation, body language, touch, para-linguistic, silence.
Patterns of Communication:
a)Passive
b)Aggressive
c)Assertive
d)Passive-aggressive.

Of all these assertive communication is the most effective. Assertive Communicators express their thoughts in a very polite manner that is considerate of other people's opinion.
Effective Communication is defined as the ability to convey information to another effectively and efficiently.I think my Communication technique is very effective.
