Distinguish among different approaches to solving transboundary and non-transboundary environmental problems and describe alternatives to trade measures for enforcing labor and environmental standards.

Solutions

Expert Solution

1. National requirements definitely differ from country to country and same is the situation between the United States and Mexico. Taking the requirement of chlorination, United states completely absorbed the costs of the aforesaid requirement where Mexico is in no need of it (United States undergone more than $1 million where the other paid only $0.9 million) . So this equitable approach of international costs improved the cooperation between these both countries as Unites States undergone the costs without which Mexico couldn't handle those costs. This is done in order to improve the transboundary relations in the future solving a common problem. Thus, the sewage is cleared by the United States in order to make Mexico enter into the United States without which Mexico couldn't.

2. Solving the problems of Air pollution and climatic change with the upcoming technological changes can be done by creating the renewable energy resources. Problems of Deforestation can be done by strong governance and preserving the rare species and the existing ones by replanting and same is in the case of the living species. Problems of soil degradation can be solved by the phenomenon of crop rotation and retention of water through the technique of terrace building, etc,. The problem of population increment can be solved by the educational provision which indirectly controls the production rates due to awareness of the existing problems of the population.

3, With income gaps between the countries of rich and poor, there will be no alternative trade measures related to labour and the environmental standards. But in case of international conflicts, the economic policies rule over the trade measures as they deal with situation effectively and efficiently where exchange of labour and labels for exports providing genuine and eco-friendly products is done in order to calm down the situation of the country undergoing recession/depression or say conflict.
