Environmental ethics is that branch of philosophy that deals with the relation of human ethics and the natural environment. It covers many areas of concerns like depletion of natural resources, dwindling plant and animal biodiversity, climate change, degradation of biodiversity etc. Environmental ethics came into existence in 1970s when people started noticing the harmful effect of  industrial revolution, economic expansion and population growth were having on the environment.

Approaches to resolving environmental problems:

• Recycling of waste is a major method which can reduce the accumulation of waste
• Initiating green policies at organisational level which will be directed towards the protection of nature
• Use of innovative principles like green buildings which focus on maintaining a zero carbon emission strategies
• Setting up of environment conservation departments at every level of the administration
• Spreading awareness about the importance of biodiversity and environment among the people
• Introduction of sustainable methods of production
