RIMS stands for Rational Interaction for Moral Sensitivity. It
is a new approach to deal with moral decisions in a workplace.
Arguments against RIMS strategy:
- This strategy assumes all morality in its complete sense to be
relative. However, there has been a lot of conceptual argument
against moral relativism which says that there are certain
objective truths or objective morals which cannot be altered to fit
into different perspectives, however adverse the situation might
be. This is the concept of moral realism.
- The strategy says that decisions can be taken only if a
complete and balanced information is available. However, the very
concept of filtering what information is logical and related
differs according to perspective and hence there can never be a
single person weighing in all factors against his/her guidelines of
moral correctness.
- Some values are needed for society to exist and function.
Without these values and prohibitions, a society will ultimately
crumble.
