How does different cultures view stages of life, what messages from your ethnic group influence your understanding, between childhood adolesence, adulthood and elderhood
Although culture and societal or political make-up differentiate individual’s developmental stages, there is a common understanding about how one’s life will develop at each stage. This may also differ between men and women because of the socio-cultural impacts.
Childhood is a period of learning different things, skills, social interactions etc. When one comes to adolescence, they start preparing for their future life with minimal responsibility. This could be marked by going to college to get specialized in a subject, attend someone as an apprentice in order to learn the craft. During adulthood, one starts working for someone or start their own business, get married, bear children, save for children and settle down. In elderhood, one spends time helping their children who are married by this time and playing with their grandchildren. They spend their time leisurely waiting for their end of days.
In my ethnicity, it is almost similar to what I have explained above except that boys will be given additional responsibility if the father is dead or incapable.
