Discuss how social forces such as changes in the economy, religion, educational systems, and law and government affect individual families? How do families adapt to these changes?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Social forces shape famillies and determine how different members in a family interact with each other and inter-family transactions. They influence the structure of the families as well as determine position and status in the social framework. Example, Educational system - Education available to children and parents has a direct impact on family. The quality of eduction available determines the opportunities that the family gets and accordingly able to reach a particular social status or income level. Religion: Reiligion influences beliefs and value systems of the family as well as acts as the most common social identification and thereby affecting the interaction of families in the society. Social forces have changed many aspects of the families - role of gender, change in role of age groups

The familes adapt to these changes by aligning with current social framework. Depending upon the belief systems, some families adapt easily whereas some are more resistant to change. However, the cohesive social pressure acts as a prime motivation to adapt to the changes
