  • Happiness as defined by the textbook is “subjective well-being”, it is positive feelings, emotions and mood, a feeling a satisfaction with ones’ life and the world around them and having low level of negativefeelings and moods.
  • People look for happiness in many areas of their life, with relationships and interactions and though experiences, like jobs and religion. There many different reason people’s happiness is affected. One of those reasons being, everyone is wired differently. Some people are naturally optimist people with positive outlooks on life despite hardships.
  • Some people have more pessimistic views on life so it can be harder for those people to hold onto happiness or look forward to happiness in hard times. Our satisfaction with our relationships, leisure, work and religion contribute to our happiness.
  • The good life is achieved through identifying our unique skills and abilities and engaging these talents to enrich our lives; those who achieve the good life often find themselves absorbed in their work or their recreational pursuits.
  • Some have suggested that satisfaction with marriage and family life is the strongest predictor of happiness. Happy people tend to have more friends, more high-quality social relationships, and stronger social support networks than less happy people. Happy people also have a high frequency of contact with friends.
  • Being surrounded by good positive people including family and friends,having a good married life with children and a wholesome family definitely affects happiness since social relationships and human connection is extremely important for all of us.
  • Having the job you always wanted,with the required paycheck and also enough challenges to keep you motivated with the work also keeps people happy and being satisifed financially as well.Some people get to do work that they love which makes them happy.
  • For some people having lesiure time,traveling,spending time with new people,inteacrting with them,pursuing a new hobby makes them happy. Whereas for some religion and their belief systems helps them attain oneness with God and peace of mind and optimism.
  • Connecting with one's religion makes people do good acts,be kind to others and practice charity and a lead a meaningful life which keeps one happy and satisified with life,that they made a difference in someone's life through their efforts.
  • When you are happy,you automatically connect with people better,work with more zeal,enjoy your leisure time and also believe in God's power more.
