25) Kathy has been having problems with her staff taking longer than normal breaks in a breakroom with very comfortable chairs and table and they invite employee to linger. Kathy ask you to design uncomfortable chairs and tables to discourage employees from lingering.
A) The main moral dilemma here would be knowing the fact the
uncomfortable chairs could result in physical illness of the
employees but it cannot be avoided since this has been asked by the
senior. The employees have been taking undue advantage of the
comfort provided by Kathy. The breaks are being extended and this
is resulting in affecting the work.
B) The idea or concept to deal with moral issues here to make the
employees understand the conduct to be followed at the workplace.
Also, to ensure there are rules and regulations implied upon the
employees.
C) The inquires needed to make a reliable judgment would include
inquiry about the break time, the reason for an extended break, and
working on the importance of following code of ethics.
D) The way to solve this dilemma would be to imply the rules to
follow the timings at work. Understanding each employee's concern
regarding the break time and other issues that are making the
employees ignore their work.
E) The option that is permissible is implying the policy of
following code of conduct.
