Christ was a servant leader. Does the leadership of your organization demonstrate a servant leadership or does the leadership expect to be served? Explain your answer by comparing and/or contrasting the leadership style of Jesus Christ to that of your organization’s leadership.
No, the leadership in my organization does not demonstrate servant leadership but expects to be served. When we look at Jesus, he constantly taught his followers his ways and guided them in every step. In my organization, this is not the case as individuals with leadership roles don't voluntarily help the employees or the new employees. They expect them to learn from their colleagues. Another example is Jesus always set a benchmark and was a role model to his followers when he did things by healing, helping, and feeding the hungry. The leaders in my organization fail to do that, they don't set benchmarks or act as role models but perform the job like a manager which is purely task-oriented.
One of the most important aspects of the servant leadership style that we see in Jesus is the willingness to serve the followers. Jesus looked after the needs of the followers voluntarily. This leadership is again absent in my organization, the managers do not go around asking the employees about the tools and help they need to perform better. They just want the employees to get the job done. Therefore, if organizations could even reflect a few aspects of servant leadership, there would be a boost in employee morale and productivity in the organization.
