what are the disadvantage of using servant leadership
Servant leadership basically means in an organization that a worker is present to serve the organization. As one moves up higher into leadership, then there are more people to serve.
Some disadvantages:
1. Time consuming: It takes longer for a decision to be made especially the ones that are required to benefit all. This slows down the implementation process.
2. Lessened role of the leader: As a servant leader, the leader is required to do what the staff asks him/her to do. It basically works against traditional authority. In this case, leaders must be willing to give up absolute authority.
3. Not suitable for every business type: Because it requires a commitment to developing your staff and promoting personal and professional growth, establishing a successful servant leadership takes time. Not every business responds positively to this form of leadership, especially the ones that are undergoing changes in the work culture. It hence, makes it difficult for the managers to implement this system.
