In your opinion, what do ethics have to do with leadership in the public sector? Are they inter-related and relevant to each other for organizational success? Why?
Business ethics may be defined as a set of principles to protect the interest of the customers and moral rules, society, employers, and business unit as a whole. Using these ethical standards, an organisation regulate their behaviour to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong as perceived by others. It is not only applicable to any particular type of business but is applicable to every type of business and this is how ethics plays a major role in terms of leadership even though it is a public sector.
Leadership and Business ethics are inter-related and plays a
major role as Leadership is an ability of a person or an
organization to guide an individual or group of individuals and
compel them to produce good results.
The key role that leaders fill to build a learning organization
includes the change in management, job and function identifiers,
overseer of the training. These roles are filled by the leaders in
order to view the bigger picture in terms of change in the
management and leadership style to incorporate a larger level of
variance, deviation and changes in the system. It is their
responsibility to allow better selection processes for the job and
allocate better tasks based on the employee's talent. They have to
maintain. Overeat has over the learning process of the company and
in order to build a learning organization, present the employees
with challenges, benefits like a reward, sense of achievement,
training and growth in order to create an ideal environment to
learn.
This allows the leaders to create a workforce that can effectively deal with unfavourable or even unprecedented problems and provide the solution for it that makes up a structure run like cogs in a wheel. That's why ethics in a public sector is inter-related as happiness can also be a measure of productivity.
