Platinum based chemotherapy drug namely cisplatin is most powerful and widely used cancer drug .platinum dioxide iv complexes have been designed that are activated upon irradiation to cure. Ruthenium-lll complexes ,poly pyridyl ruthenium complexes and nano material complexes of ruthenium-ll. The driving force is to stop cancer these compounds penetrate well within the tumour cells and binds effectively DNA ,its binding to proteins .Ruthenium complexes display pretty slow ligand exchange rates in water .the electron  deficient metal atom might act as a magnet for electron rich DNA nucleophile.
